The AVE covers foreign holders of ordinary and valid passports, who wish to travel to the Argentine Republic for tourism. For this, they exclusively need to be holders of a valid visa category B2 / J / B1 / O / P (P1-P2-P3) / E / H-1B issued by the United States of America

Regarding foreigners from jurisdictions that are exempted from visas to enter the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, holders of valid ordinary, diplomatic, official or service passports may process their AVE provided that they are able to demonstrate at least ONE (1) verifiable entry to the mentioned country "in the TWO (2) years prior to the application" or who have a valid permit issued by the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) or visas B2 / J / B1 / O / P (P1-P2-P3) / E / H-1B issued by the United States of America

We inform you that, according to Disposition 4285/2019, the request in National Territory to change category or subcategory is considered inadmissible once entry has been made under the AVE granted. It is a required condition in the terms of article 20, paragraph a) of Decree No. 616/10 that entry to the territory does not derive from an Electronic Travel Authorization, taking into account that it regulates certain facilities exclusively for the purpose of simplifying entry to the territory. in case of really short stays

According to Provision 538/2020 of January 27, 2020, the application for Electronic Travel Authorization is temporarily suspended for those holding a type C visa issued by a country of the EUROPEAN UNION included in the Schengen Area, or other member states of the Schengen Area, or applicants that have entered the Schengen Area at least ONCE in the last TWO (2) years.
